It’s important to consider where you are in the Probate process. If you’re still waiting for the Court to approve the sale of the property, there is not much you can do; you will have to wait for court approval.
So, what do you do while you wait for Probate?
While you wait, there are a number of things that you could do to start preparing the property for eventual sale. This is important because it will help you save time once the house is able to be sold.
One thing you can do to expedite the process, is ask your attorney to request you be appointed with ‘Independent Administrative Authority’ which will make the sale similar to your typical home sale. This will keep you from having to go back to the courts for continuous approvals. Court hearings are continuously getting postponed to future dates that may be months down the road-and you don’t want to miss out on the best seller’s market of all time!
There’s no better time to sell any item, including your inherited home, than when demand for it is at an all-time high and supply is low. This is exactly that time when you will negotiate your best possible price and terms. You’ll want to keep in mind that the agent you select Makes ALL the Difference! Also, be sure to seek the advice of an attorney as I am not one but just giving helpful information.
