Livermore Rodeo Parade
Happy Friday! It’s Rodeo weekend and I’m in the Livermore Rodeo Parade! Yee-Haw!!!
Rodeo events are already underway, Mixer and Family night, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had this weekend if you missed those events.
Not only is the Livermore Rodeo an annual event the 2nd weekend in June, but 2018 is the 100th year!
While many cities around the San Francisco Bay Area may lack space to host an event like this, Livermore has preserved it’s Rodeo grounds. There is plenty of parking, open space, and stadium seating. Located in South Livermore, not far from downtown and Livermore’s beautiful wineries.
South Livermore neighborhood homes are in high demand. The easy access to hwy 84 makes the neighborhoods in south Livemore especially attractive to anyone communting to the Silicon Valley or South Bay Area. It’s about 35 miles to Mountain View, to give you an idea of distance.
Something you may not know about me…I teach an after school band program for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at four Livermore elementary schools. Tomorrow is our BIG end of year event and our 3rd year marching in the Livermore Rodeo Parade! Tonight is our one and only combined school marching practice and band family BBQ. I’m expecting about 100 peoople at the bbq tonight. I just love teaching these classes, many of the kids just started playing music for the first time in September and now they will play and march in a parade.
If you come out for the parade tomorrow look for us! We’ll be wearing mint green t-shirts (see pic) and we’re #103 in the line up. Come out, cheer them on LOUDLY and say hello if you get a chance! 😉
The Rodeo Parade is Saturday 10am on 2nd street in downtown Livermore. Get there early! Check this article for details on road closures: https://patch.com/california/livermore/livermore-rodeo-parade-2018-road-closures-route
